Agent Ransack
Whoa! One of my best liked programs and free too. Never (and I do mean never– seriously never) mess with the windows search programs again- the new Vista search program well...suxx!. This program runs well on both my XP and Vista machines and if the file or folder is on the machine...Agent Ransack will find it– and find it quickly! Play with it awhile and discover all its uses. I wrote the 'author' a question and had a reply that day. Unheard of!! (Pffffffftttttpht Microsoft) Free Download.
Q-Dir is a free program that allows you to quickly search for specific files and folders. View and manage multiple files at once, for side-by-side comparisons. You can even use it to view files over a network (I view my laptop, desktop and back-up drives all at the same time). The main window open can accomodate up to four panels, each with the same commands (run, delete, copy, paste files, drag-and-drop and more) and each has the ability to browse for a specific file. It even offers a magnifier for the visually impaired.

SyncBack Freeware is a great little free file / drive synchronization program that will help you keep files and folders in balance between different machines. The free version has many useful qualities; purchase of a more powerful version is available. I use this almost daily! Includes a help file. Did I mention the cost? It's free!
FastStone Image Viewer is a fast, stable, user-friendly image browser, converter and editor. It has a nice array of features that include image viewing, management, comparison, red-eye removal, emailing, resizing, cropping, retouching and color adjustments. Version 4.4 was released 03-25-2011. I cannot give credit to the 'author', as I have had this for over ten years and I simply have no idea where I got it. My apologies. I do know it was free, lol (it's in my free folder). Pretty much the same as windows calculator only, yep...BIGGER! Just DL and put it in any folder you want; no installation is necessary– it is entirely self-contained. I love it, but as I did not author it I can make no warranty promises!! Before Yahh, I have never had a problem with it.

There are three versions of the K-Lite Codec Pack: Basic, Standard and Full:

This package uses/installs Media Classic Home Cinema. It is a rinky-dink looking program with powerful utilities.
